Catholic Scouting

The Family Life Office oversees the Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting. Committee activities include the annual religious awards ceremony, religious emblem training, retreats, and pilgrimages.
Members of the approximately twenty-two charter organizations of Cub and Boy Scouts in the Lincoln Diocese can earn Light of Christ, Parvuli Dei, Ad Altare Dei, and Pius XII religious awards. Laity and priests, who support Catholic Scouting, can earn the Saint George Emblem and Bronze Pelican. Bob Kruml, Larry Hall, and Larry Kohel have chaired the Catholic Committee on Scouting, which coordinates the annual religious awards ceremony. Father Barnhill has been the Committee Chaplain since 1991.
