Bishop's Lay Committee for Vocations
As the title suggests, the Bishop’s Lay Committee for Vocations is comprised of laity representing parishes throughout the diocese who desire to promote vocations to the Priesthood and Religious life.
One of the ways they do this is by organizing a “Seminarian of the Week” and “Sister of the Week” in which parishes are invited to pray each week for a particular seminarian studying to become a priest in our diocese, or for one of the novices or postulants studying and working towards final vows in one of the religious orders in the diocese.
The Bishops’ Lay Committee for Vocations also organizes an annual appeal collection, which supplies some of the cost of the expenses for our seminarians, our future priests, in their studies, training, and formation for the priesthood.
