Parish to Honor Retiring Teacher
LINCOLN (SNR) - St. John the Apostle Church in Lincoln will honor Sue Waldren,
founder of the parish preschool program, May 16.
A reception will be held at 1 p.m. in the school gymnasium.
Mrs. Waldren built the parish preschool program “from the ground up” 25 years
ago. Father Joseph Mroczkowoski asked her to start the preschool to attract
families to St. John School.
“It is a blessing to teach in a Catholic school where we can share God’s
unconditional love and mercy,” Mrs. Waldren said.
She spent many hours researching new activities to keep learning fun and
exciting for the kids, but said that the number-one thing the children take away
from preschool at St. John the Apostle is that “Jesus loves them.”
On her retirement, Mrs. Waldren said “I will miss their sweet smiles and hugs,
and their enthusiasm and energy.”
All are invited to join the parish in thanking Mrs. Waldren for her years of
service at the May 16 reception.
